Expansion project for the production plant in Belchatów, Poland

A decision was made to expand the production of conveyor belts at the plant in Belchatów, Poland due to strong demand for its high-quality products. Between 2014 and 2018 a total of EUR 46 million will be invested to double capacity based on market demand but also to ensure we provide some buffer going forward due to the varied global demand cycle.

Sempertrans Poland is undergoing significant production upgrades and, as a result, its production capacity has now been increased by 50% since September 2016. It currently ranks as the largest and most modern conveyor belt production facility in Europe.

This investment will lay the foundation for continuing the expansion into new markets and countries in line with the group’s growth strategy. Thanks to this expansion initiative, Semperit is enlarging its strong technological position in the high-end segment of conveyor belts and is creating additional jobs in Europe.

These infrastructure upgrades ensure that order delivery timelines can be achieved with zero risk of over commitment while rapid delivery programs can also be addressed, should that be required.

Poland facility recognised with prestigious awards

Sempertrans Poland received three significant awards in 2013: the Polish Innovation Award, one of the most important prizes for product innovations in Poland, was awarded for the newly developed energy-efficient conveyor belt. Due to its significantly lower roll resistance, plant operators can save up to 25% of the drive energy. This innovation award was followed by the presentation of the Euro Partner Awards as well as the accolade as the leading Polish exporter in the chemical industry by the Polish Ministry of Economy.
